Frequently asked questions

We provide answers to the most frequently asked questions

Of course. Leasing saves time and money for private individuals as well.

In the option of leasing with services, Motorlease undertakes:

  1. the regular maintenance of the car according to the manufacturer’s instructions at cooperating workshops
  2. tire replacement due to normal wear at the predetermined mileage
  3. insurance coverage (composite, fire, crystal)
  4. roadside assistance
  5. road taxes, when applicable.

The leases you pay to Motorlease are included, in their entirety, in your company’s expenses and reduce the income you show. The costs include the VAT you pay. However, offset taxes do not apply except for vehicles with a professional license.

If you are not sure how long you want to keep your car, we recommend choosing our flexible program that allows you to change your car whenever you want.

Of course. At the end of your contract, you can request to buy your car at its residual value. If you have the flexible leasing program, you can even buy it before the lease ends.

Ask us about all possible scenarios. You can choose to lock in the price at which you will be able to purchase it at the end of the lease. In this case, however, the lease is slightly higher compared to a contract without the option to buy.

Of course. At Motorlease, we offer many alternative suggestions for leasing. If you are not interested in any of them, you can tell us which model you prefer, and we will put together a leasing offer for you.

At Motorlease, we undertake to exchange your car with a leased one. You can bring it for evaluation and get your new leased car. Together, we will agree on the value of your old car, which will be the down payment (without any further disbursement on your part) for your new car. As a result, the lease will be reduced.

Of course. You only need to inform us to issue a green card. Please let us know at least 3-4 working days in advance.

Of course. Motorlease can only lease trucks up to 3.5 tonnes.

At Motorlease, you will always have a car available. You can rent a pre-delivery vehicle from our fleet until your car arrives, with a beneficial lease much lower than renting a car.

Your Car Insurance covers:

  • Third-party Liability (Material damages – Bodily injuries) up to the amounts defined by the Law
  • Total theft (in case of total destruction, the car will be replaced with another one of the same type and age)
  • Partial theft
  • Fire (in case of total destruction, the car will be replaced with another one of the same type and age)
  • Terrorist actions
  • Natural phenomena
  • Crystal breakage
  • Own damages with participation fees (composite insurance with exemption)
  • Insurance for marine transport

Any differentiations in Insurance Coverage are stated in writing in the Lease Agreement.

What it does not cover:

-Individual bumps at the bottom of the car

-Damage, wear, damage to tires, wheels, and other parts caused by driving on unpaved roads, misuse (e.g. riding on pavement), or excessive stress or overheating (e.g. drifting)*

-Damage or wear beyond that caused by normal use in the interior of the car (upholstery, dashboard, etc.)

-The damages caused to the car during transport by ships or trains

-Towing a caravan or trailer. If you intend on such use, you can opt for special insurance, the cost of which is covered by you

– Unauthorized persons driving the car

Cars alert us when they need care. All you need to do is:
a. stay informed about the vehicle care process here.
b. send an email to aftersales@motorlease.gr as soon as the indicator lights up on your dashboard

Note: Usually, cars with conventional gasoline or diesel engines need maintenance by the end of the 1st year of use and after that, at certain mileage defined by the manufacturer.

At Motorlease, we select specific workshops that have passed our strict requirements and with which we have entered into an agreement for the proper maintenance of your car. For your convenience, we have a pick-up-and-delivery service from and to your preferred location.

Tire replacement is provided due to normal wear. It is usually required every 45K kilometers. This service is covered by us and is performed only in authorized workshops. All you need to do is to inform us via email to aftersales@motorlease.gr.

Cars undergo a KTEO inspection after the first 4 years of their life and thereafter, every 2 years. KTEO inspection is NOT included in the lease and is, therefore, the lessee’s responsibility.

We recommend that you check your car’s oil level and don’t ignore any noises or indications that appear on the dashboard.

We recommend you purchase fuel from gas stations that are “known” to you.

If you own a modern diesel car, you surely know that next to the fuel filler socket, there is another one. This is where we top up AdBlue, the liquid that helps reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. Therefore, it is important to add AdBlue whenever required.

As soon as the light on the dashboard of your car that calls for service is turned on, immediately send an email to aftersales@motorlease.gr, so that there is enough time to schedule your appointment, stating:
a. your car registration number
b. the kilometers traveled, and
c. observations/remarks about the car that you would like to be considered during the service.

Your vehicle’s Insurance covers:

  • Partial theft

At Motorlease, we cover tire replacement at predetermined mileage and due to normal wear. The only requirement is that the tire replacement takes place in authorized car workshops.

Any damage, wear, or damage that may occur to the tires or wheels due to driving on unpaved roads, misuse (e.g., awkward climbs on pavements), overheating (drifting, unnecessary spinning), or sudden reduction in tire tread (due to low pressures) is covered by the lessee.

Of course. A garage is a perfect place, but even in an apartment building, you can install a charger (e.g., in the pilotis). The only prerequisite is to have a private parking space.

There are usually three types of charging:
a. Slow type from a simple home outlet. No installation is required, but an electrical check of the outlet you want to use and the safety of the panel is mandatory.
b. Fast home charging with a Wallbox, a special device provided in addition to the car (or as a separate purchase). It requires installation by an electrician and can charge the car more safely and with more power in about 50% less time than slow charging.
c. Fast charging at various publicly installed charging points, e.g. municipal parking lots, hotels, highways, gas stations, etc.

In theory, no. The use of your home charger is available only through your charging card. No other charging card will be accepted.

The charging time depends on the type of charging and the capacity of the car battery. In general, though, for zero (0) vehicles, slow charging usually needs 10 hours or more, fast home charging with a Wallbox 3-7 hours, and fast charging 30-60 minutes to charge up to 80%.

Note: as everyday charging is not required since the daily kilometers we need are usually much less than the vehicle’s range, the charging time is eventually much less.

Officially (from car dealerships), electric cars undergo a periodic inspection like conventional vehicles every few kilometers. However, most inspections are visual and diagnostic.

If an electric vehicle has to be parked for a long time, a good idea is to try to maintain a charge level between 30% and 50% by charging it at intervals. It should also be parked in a cool or shaded place during the summer or in a garage during the winter.

Many safety systems protect both the vehicle and the charging cables so you can charge even in bad weather conditions. However, you are required to comply with the general safety rules for such cases (e.g. no ‘free’ extension leads).

Car accidents occur often. If there is no serious injury, the rest is a matter of simple procedures.

Remember: Do not acknowledge any third-party claims. Refrain from giving money to another person or signing any document.
